Can someone guide me in how to learn and practice Hadoop? I want to work on big data in the future and I want to work further in the field. Some datasets, practice tutorials, and guidelines are what I am looking for.

In addition to educational materials, Cloudera offers a free Hadoop cluster that is ready to go. After installing VirtualBox, KVM or VMWare, you can download and run the virtual machine.

Hortonworks also offers a complete VM: "sandbox. This comes with Hive, Pig, and other tools that can be managed by the browser frontend.
