For my dissertation I want to study the causal impact of a still-to-choose policy on a specific health outcome in the US (cancer risk possibly). Where can I find longitudinal/panel datasets on health status and outcomes for the US with state variables too? I know NHIS but it is at the regional level unfortunately.
Of course I also need some other variables, not only health-related ones. I mean, like generic demographic, marital status, age, sex and so on.
As for the policy, I’m still not sure which one to use, I was thinking about Obamacare or some educational reform. I’m flexible about the period then (possibly more recent-ish data)
I am not from the US so I tried different websites but I don’t know exactly how to move. Of course free use datasets are preferred since I cannot pay for them unfortunately.
