open budget and open spending are what you are looking for:
https://github.com/adstiles/openbudgetoakland
https://openspending.org/
you can create an account in openspending and upload your docs there. open budget i'm not 100% oncsv format is basic, but pretty sure you have to dig through your docs and match up the reports.
unrelatedstill quite confusing, but in my opinionat least for me:
also take those docs and create an account on datahub.io, upload and store that data there, unless
you are aware of an open data portal in your area...there very well could be.
editonly need three columns:
i see that link goes to code for fl, idk but i'll assume you're a brigadeer date, coolamount, me toounique id. eitherfrom what i can tell, there is no way to automate this, ask code for fl if theyand you're going to have any plans to setliterally get all up a data portalin the guts of budget documents, and rip out what you need. we run ours ati created a google doc you can see/copy here:
http://data.codeforhamptonroads.org/
its ckan atm, but pretty sure we're switchinghttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq0hZevysGfkdDNUVjVwazJ0M0NSZm9MdVBpTkhJdEE&usp=drive_web#gid=0
there's more to socrata soon. either way, ask them.
we haven't solidified this plan yetopenspending than three columns, but our situationplus my explanation is similarquite vague, and we are goingso loading data into openspending in-depth guide here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YBXX6du4rOV6OutZncT7gyJeOA7zHml3cC1TtWJW65w/edit
openspending is where you want to implement opensubmit actual spending and open budget, although we do not have the plans for hosting open budget hashed out yet. the plan for the data portalso final budgets, and openbudget is to pointwhere you want to the data source whenever possiblerelease budget submissions, to upload as little as possible. data costs :(.
if you have more questions you could ping oakland's cfa team and raleigh's cfa team tooproposals, they've implemented themetc.
